9 February 2005 - Eddie Our US Gang, The attached report was submitted to the LDS Charities, the UN Cash for Work Program, and the Indonesian Minister of Peoples Affairs - pictures attached. All are interested in funding this type of project, but struggle with getting hard data that they can rely on. I tried to verify as a matter of record as much as I could, given my limited language skills... I will return to Kruengraya again later this week with Aaron and make good use of his fluency in the language. Enjoy. Post. Share. Pictures to follow when we have cheaper access - this email access is running us $40 US/hr out of Jakarta. I am here to accompany Aaron back to Banda Aceh... and to take a much-needed break from the sights and smells of Aceh. It really began to wear on me - leaving me depressed and homesick by the end of seemingly long, emotionally draining days. Eric went off to Medan to buy a motorcycle, and also to get a breather from the disturbing destruction in Aceh. When we return to Banda, not sure what the living arrangements will be, including continued internet access - it may be very limited again. We will not be staying in the makeshift office Eric and I had been - something happened politically locally that Eric & I could not figure out with our limited language skills, and were only told that we could not stay there any longer - our guess is that the owner found other foreign aid workers that he could rent it out to for top dollar. We were not paying anything. Hope & Dignity in Aceh Province... Eddie CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE KRUENGRAYA REPORT (PICTURES ATTACHED). |
